ROSE BAY APARTMENTS – PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The site is on a major eastern suburbs arterial road and is located close to the Rose Bay village and enjoys good access to a variety of shops and services.

The surrounding context is characterised by a mixture of residential buildings of various forms and ages. There is no prevailing building type although the primary construction material is face or rendered brick.

Our design response has provided overall massing that is respectful of the existing context with reference to height, front and side setbacks.

The building massing is broken into a bipartite arrangement with the lower part recessed to emphasise the upper part.

The upper element is expressed as a hovering, dynamic element over the lower masonry part. The balconies have operable timber screens which provide an infinite variety of openings providing constantly changing visual interest from the street.

Building materials have been selected to be low maintenance with all external walls face brick and smaller elements being robust in nature such as steel and aluminium.

Construction of the building was completed in 2022.
